TOMGRAFT: Free Tom Drum Synth Plugin by Tonecraft Tokyo
Tonecraft Tokyo has released TOMGRAFT, a dedicated tom drum synthesizer designed to eliminate repetitive fills and tedious sample hunting. The instrument is available as a completely free download for both Windows and macOS systems. It gives producers the tools to synthesize harmonically coherent, dynamically responsive tom hits directly inside any modern DAW.
Dedicated Tom Drum Synthesis
Finding matching tom samples across high, mid, and low registers often leaves drum tracks feeling disconnected or artificially rigid. TOMGRAFT solves this workflow hurdle by synthesizing drum bodies, membrane resonance, and attack transients using lightweight physical modeling and subtractive techniques.
Instead of cycling through static sample libraries, you can dial in a consistent sonic character and sweep pitches across multiple octaves. The engine lets you sculpt cohesive tom sets where each drum shares the same acoustic profile, room presence, and transient bite.
Key Features and Sound Shaping
TOMGRAFT provides an intuitive interface focused on rapid sound design during drum programming sessions:
- Dedicated sound engines for tonal drum body and transient strike generation
- Precise envelope controls for membrane decay, pitch drop, and dampening
- Integrated drive and saturation stage for warm harmonic presence
- Velocity-sensitive response for dynamic, humanized drum rolls and fills
- Low CPU usage suitable for loading separate high, mid, and low tom instances
- 64-bit VST3 and Audio Unit support for Windows and macOS
Download and Availability
You can download TOMGRAFT directly from Tonecraft Tokyo. The installer does not require third-party license managers or online activation, and all sounds generated by the plugin are royalty-free for commercial releases.
